This week’s customer service "Touchstone".

Brochure racks.

Having a great brochure is one thing, having it accessible for your customers is another.

Brochures, like business cards, are of little value if they are not in the hands of the people you wish to do business with you. So priority number one is to get them from the printer’s carton to your customer’s hands as quickly as possible. Achieving this objective is not helped if your customers can’t locate the brochure they are looking for.

Travel Agents, particularly the larger franchise groups, are a good example of how to display brochures. I mention the franchise groups as generally their respective franchise agreements include specific requirements for the style, design and amount of brochure racks that must be included in the office layout. These organisations know the value of investing in quality brochure racks.

Development in the molded acrylics industry has lead to the availability of high quality, highly functional brochure racks at an affordable price. The great thing about acrylic is that it can be cut and shaped to fit any location. Acrylic racks can also be built to any size from smaller DL and A4 counter top stands to larger free standing or wall display brochure racks whose size is only limited by your imagination. The ultimate size, style and design of the racks are determined by both the size and quantity of the brochures they are to contain and also by the choice of location.

Countertop stands are ideal for smaller brochures. These can be placed adjacent to where customers stand completing their business transaction or to one side of the front of desks where customers are seated. These mini brochure racks are also ideal for placement in other places of business as it is important not to limit displaying your brochures within you own four walls.

If you are in the Pizza business, why not have a brochure rack in each of your local video stores, or vice versa if you own a video store making sure you include all the fast food outlets in your vicinity. If you are in the automobile accessory manufacturing or distribution business, your brochures should be in every car dealership in town. A good exercise for you and your team is to brainstorm what complementary businesses could ideally display you brochures. Reciprocating with an offer to display theirs makes this exercise a relatively simple task.

Supplying a professional quality brochure rack will also assist in the prominent display of your wares. A client who is in the Domestic Water Bore drilling business achieved outstanding success when we designed and distributed a small A5 sized countertop acrylic stand to dozens of suburban hardware stores. The two colour, single sided, one page brochure simply listed ‘six great reasons to install your own water bore" along with a 1800 free call number and contact details. Business boomed.

Having great brochure racks are however of little consequence if they are not kept stocked with current brochures. Keeping them stocked is not generally a problem if the rack is in regular view on your desk or on your office walls. Maintaining inventory in brochure racks located elsewhere requires constant monitoring or an arrangement with others to keep them stocked.

The success of great brochures is multiplied many times if displayed in high quality professional brochure racks.

Many happy customer returns!
